Things to Do in Houston Texas

Houston Texas is a great place to visit and there are lots of sights to see and places to explore.

Perhaps the thing that Houston is most famous for is the NASA Space Center. This is the official visitor’s center at the NASA Johnson Space Center, If you go there, jump straight on the tram and get the full tour, it’s well worth it. Consider taking up the membership if you’re in Houston for a few days, because it grants priority boarding – and you’ll probably not get around all the things to see at the center in just one day, so you’ll save loads of time on your visits!

The National Museum of Funeral History is a less well known place to visit, but it’s a great experience. It’s located in a non-descript building in a slightly out of the way part of town so a lot of people overlook it but it’s well worth the look. It is a fun and interesting educational museum that is to morbid or gruesome. It’s a popular place at halloween, but it’s actually interesting at any time of the year.

If you’re travelling with adults and looking for somewhere fun to go, the Budweiser Brewery Experience is a lot of fun. The experience will appeal to people who like Budweiser, and even to those who are more homebrewers – it’s a fun day and it is educational too, with guides that are well versed in everything from hop storage to different kinds of yeast. There is a beer tasting session at the end of the tour, and you can get a free ber at the end, as well as souvenirs such as a glass, caps, etc. The tour is affordable, and the gift shop has reasonably priced gifts.

The McGovern Centennial Gardens are a popular, and free, attraction that is particularly beautiful in the Spring, and that is a great place to go for a walk with friends in the summer. You’ll find lots of opportunities for great photography, and you’ll find that there are some great views and some easy, gentle walking routes too.

Houston is full of things to see and do. Whether you’re in the area for a holiday, or visiting for a conference and just want to take in a few sites on an evening or between panels, you’ll be sure to find something that you can enjoy.
